In 2002 I founded an international development aid charity called AidCamps International (CCN:1101059) and was the managing trustee of the charity until 2008, and a trustee until 2009.
AidCamps International primarily provides community buildings for children in developing countries, and does so mainly by offering fundraising volunteers the opportunity to participate in the development aid projects.
During my trusteeship the charity provided over £480,000 to local NGOs for international development aid, and ran 34 group volunteering projects supplying 21 new community buildings and extending one, as well as also funding the construction, extension or refurbishment of several community buildings for children otherwise, and funding other local development aid projects for the charity's partner NGOs.
Follow the links below to read reports written by participating volunteers about the group development aid projects implemented while I was running the charity. Dates in italics show the projects that I went out and personally ran. I also set up each of the projects following those, as well as doing the research trips and setting up the initial projects in all countries except Nepal. I also co-ran part of the Kenya project.
For current projects please see the AidCamps International website (I am now retired from and no longer involved with the charity).
